Welcome to Beethoven Award
International Music Competition
About the Competition
The Beethoven Award was created to honor the spirit of music as a force that unites people beyond borders, languages, and generations. Beethoven himself symbolizes resilience, creativity, and the triumph of art over adversity. With this in mind, the competition offers musicians from every corner of the world a stage where their voices can be heard and celebrated.
The competition is entirely online, making it accessible to musicians regardless of location or circumstances. It provides an opportunity for both emerging talents and experienced performers to share their artistry, gain international recognition, and connect with a broader audience.
All instruments are welcome, as well as voice, chamber ensembles, composers and conductors. While the name of the award pays tribute to Beethoven, there is no requirement to perform his works. Any repertoire is accepted—classical, contemporary, or original compositions. What matters most is the authenticity and excellence of each performance.
By participating in the Beethoven Award, musicians take part in a global celebration of creativity, dedication, and the enduring power of music to inspire.
“Music is the mediator between the spiritual and the sensual life”
Ludwig van Beethoven
ABOUT
The Beethoven Award follows a “risk-free competition” formula – simple, accessible, and transparent. The competition is divided into two stages. Participation begins with a Preliminary Round free of charge, allowing every musician to present their performance without financial risk.
The Preliminary Round participants submit their applications and the jury selects the most promising candidates for the Final Round. Only those invited decide whether they wish to continue. If they choose to take part in the Final Round, a prize is guaranteed – every finalist becomes a laureate.
The competition is entirely online, making it easy to join from anywhere in the world. Simply record your performance, submit your video link, and share your artistry with the international jury—no travel required.
Awards
Winners are honored with beautifully designed digital diplomas at four levels – Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Prizes, along with Special Mentions for outstanding achievements. Platinum Laureates receive a €200 cash prize.
Beyond the prizes, the competition places strong emphasis on recognition and promotion. Winners are presented internationally through the Universal Music Society (UMS), and selected laureates are featured in interviews, offering them additional visibility. Prizewinners also receive an individual poster showcasing their achievements, a lasting mark of success that can be shared with audiences, institutions, and future collaborators.
Teachers may request Teacher Appreciation Diplomas as recognition of their guidance and support.
